About Tim Smalley
I’m Tim – a coach, writer, photographer and former corporate product and marketing strategist who rebuilt his life after grief, burnout and a near-death illness.
I lost my first wife to cancer in my mid-20s. Lost my second wife’s mum to the same cancer in my 30s. And in my early 40s, I nearly died from sepsis. In between, I built and sold businesses, had a successful corporate career – and then completely burned out.
Therapy helped. Massively. So did finding a creative outlet. And the forest – those quiet walks with no agenda – became the space where things started to shift. Eventually, I combined the last two.
Now I help others slow down, reflect, and reshape their lives – not with big promises, but with honesty, space and the kind of attention that changes things.
Creativity and curiosity are part of that. But it starts with presence.
The forest was where I did my work. But it doesn’t have to be where you do yours.
